Welcome to Uncomfortable Conversations. An online, safe space for professionals and families to discuss issues surrounding children, culture, technology, and media.
Whether you are a parent, educator, or caregiver, you are an educator of children. My blog site is intended to be a platform where educators, parents, caregivers, and other caring adults can have honest and uncomfortable conversations about childhood, culture, media, and technology. It is my hope that we discuss the issues about children’s culture and early experiences in relation to technology and media, cultural competency and relevancy in education, and media and technology’s influence on our experiences.
While it’s important to talk about these concerns, I also want us to discuss the ways we are addressing these issues and presenting possible solutions that we can implement in our daily lives. I encourage all of us to ask meaningful questions and share our stories with each other to help one another because we are all learners. By presenting our issues and solutions, it is my hope that we discover approaches that will support all children in being themselves and enhance our professional growth.
